The Gudahl Barn was donated for lumber for the museum. It was built in 1912 from 35 neighbors who worked together on a work bee. Peter Gudahl donated it to the project and 5 volunteers tore it down. They used the wood to build the frame work of the new museum.
Building the roof photos: Most volunteers shown are 70 years old or more. The youngest is 40; the oldest is 85.
The youngest volunteer for the project is 9 years old.
Many S.D. prison inmates were brought in to help with the construction.
